HARDY AND HARDIE Family Tree (Genealogy Site)

Welcome graphic

Some families know a great deal about their roots; others know very little. This site is an attempt to record what I've learned about our family history. In these modern times, families tend to be scattered all over the country, if not the world. One of the goals of this web site is to help our family stay connected even though we live far apart.

( i will be adding to this site every few days )

On this page I'll provide a little information about who I am and what inspired me to do this research. Most of this information was probably obtained from talking to living relatives and from researching public records. In the course of doing this research, I've discovered that I have many more relatives than I ever thought possible!

This is a work in progress, so please contact me if you have any information that might help round out the picture.
i'm hoping that any family members can add to this site,it will mean any hardy hardie's researching can have the information for free,
The picture on the right is of KILTEEVOGUE  where our ancestors came from,

Acknowledgments,, HI my name is john hardie,  the following info has been gathered by myself and paul hardie, a 3rd cousin once removed, paul has gathered massive amounts of info on hardy(ie)'s in scotland, our first ancestor i can trace is joseph hardy born around 1780 in ireland, talking to  frederick hardy an elderly member of the family still in ireland (freds 86),fred said told me a story, that when he was young,he had been told, that the first of our ancestors to move to donegal was a joseph hardy, later i found records to confirm freds story,it shows how valuable it can be to talk to elderly members of family. i hope i can help others connect with joseph,.later in the 1860's gg grandfather  james hardy and his brother patrick hardy g grandsons of joseph, came to live in anderston glasgow from donegal.as we have looked further into the background of names and places i have found that they came from donegal the parish of kilteevogue, ballynaman, killygordon and welchtown..i hope we can help people make the connections, happy hunting.john ( if you can add anything or have any comments to make, please feel free to email me at ) noj102@hotmail.com
